Script: Written in gothic bookhand (textualis libraria) Decoration: Decoration executed by artist William de Brailes. 45 small historiated and figured initials. 43 decorated initials. Flourished initials, running titles, and chapter numbers in red and blue ink throughout. Shelfmark: Philadelphia, Free Library of Philadelphia, MS Lewis E 29. This bible is incomplete. Text begins with II Kings (II Samuel) and ends with Mark 7:33 (fol. 155v). Several historiated and figured initials have been excised.

1. fol. 1r-155v: "[text] Factum est autem postquam est mortuus Saul . . . differentes sive prophetiam . . ." 2. fol. 156: Added leaf from the same Bible containing Romans 8:11 to 12:6. 3. fol. 157-160: Four additional fragments from the same manuscript (kept separately and numbered with foliation continuing from codex) have the following texts: fol. 157 includes Mark 15:4 to the end and Luke 1:1-32; fol. 158 continues from last leaf in bound codex with Romans 12:6 to the end and I Corinthians 1:1-5; fol. 159 contains I Thessalonians 5, II Thessalonians, and I Timothy 1-3:9; and fol. 160 contains II Timothy 2:20, Titus, and Philemon 1:1-17.
